In two different cases, engineering skills will contribute to keeping history alive. Artelia is engineer on a shared storage facility for The Royal Danish Library and The National Museum of Denmark, while we are also the winner of the Royal Building Inspectorate 3.

The district plan for a new a shared storage facility for The Royal Danish Library and The National Museum of Denmark was recently approved. The Agency for Culture and Palaces in Denmark is behind the facility where historical artifacts and valuable library items will be stored.

Artelia provides engineering consultancy for the advanced building project, where preservation of fragile items is the main issue. This requires tailor made solutions regarding indoor climate, fire safety and the technical aspects in general.

Gottlieb Paludan Architects is in the charge of the architecture and hereby the illustration below, while the contractor is DS Flexhal.

The Royal Building Inspectorate 3

While creating a safe environment for historical artifacts, we recently won a framework agreement, that encompasses a wide range of buildings worthy of preservation. More specifically, The Royal Building Inspectorate 3, where The Agency for Culture and Palaces in Denmark is also our client.

Together with Rønnow Arkitekter and Eduard Troelsgård, we are hereby the winners of a framework agreement regarding various consultancy services.

We are also quite satisfied with Inspectorate 3 in particular. It is a rather impressive selection of buildings, where the home of the royal family, Amalienborg Palace, is literately the crowning glory. Furthermore, the inspectorate covers important cultural institutions such as The National Gallery of Denmark and The Royal Danish Theatre including The Playhouse, Old Stage and The Opera.
