Scandic Nørreport opens its doors akla@moe.dk2023-06-21T09:38:08+02:0015. August 2022| Scandic Nørreport opened its doors on 1 June earlier this year. The new hotel, owned by ATP Ejendomme, is situated in an old office building that has undergone a major transformation and now houses 100 hotel rooms, a restaurant, reception, café and staff facilities. The first step in the transformation process was to conduct a laser scan of the building and setting up point clouds to form the digital 3D model. The digital 3D model of the building was used as the basic tool for the reconstruction project where the building was completely cleared out inside and out. It was particularly important to keep track of the logistics as the reconstruction took place in one of the most centrally located and busy streets in Denmark that is also relatively small. During the project, the two stores Matas and Helsemin also needed to be taken into account for them to stay open during working hours. Lastly, the building was updated to current standards while it is the first hotel in Denmark to be certified following the Nordic Eco Swan label’s new requirements. The building is also most likely to be certified DGNB silver. The project focuses on sustainability in terms of for example energy which means that the installation work has included a conversion of the existing heating system from steam to district heating, a new and more environmentally friendly cooling system and a long list of other improvements. Artelia was lead consultant on the project, and we were in charge of all engineering work including fire safety, design management, health and safety, lighting and environmental work while Artelia is also responsible for the DGNB certification.
