RoadsKristian Erlandsen2024-11-19T09:02:07+01:00 Roads Artelia has many years of experience with road projects, ranging from highways and roundabouts to bicycle paths and smaller municipal roads. Throughout design and construction, we help to ensure traffic safety, good accessibility, and passability. We often incorporate our additional competencies in traffic planning and climate adaptation. Our goal is to be at the forefront of 3D design, using tools such as Bentley Open Roads, Autocad Civil 3D, and Autoturn for vehicle swept paths. Græsted-GillelejeIn Gribskov Municipality, from Græsted to Gilleleje, a 3 km long and 8 meter wide country road is being constructed with a four-legged roundabout at Græstedvej and a two-way bicycle path along the entire route. The new road, which connects to the existing roundabout at Græsted, aims to improve both accessibility and traffic safety in the area. The project includes local rainwater management along the entire road with both ditches and 3 LAR ponds. From Roundabout to Signalized IntersectionOn Brogårdsvej in Gentofte, heavy traffic during rush hours has caused traffic safety issues in a large roundabout, especially for cyclists. To enhance safety, security, and accessibility for everyone, Artelia has been tasked with converting the Brogårdsvej/Søbredden roundabout into a signalized T-intersection. Artelia conducted preliminary traffic and accident analyses of the roundabout, and in close collaboration with RAW Mobility, we designed a signalized intersection with bicycle detection and prioritization, where left-turning bicycle traffic towards Søbredden is handled in its own phase, avoiding conflicts with other traffic.
